Miss Gauthier's experiences include human services from within the Church. She has worked as a House Mother for troubled youth; Nurse's Aid, Floor Supervisor & Cook in various Homes for the Aged.
At home, Miss Gauthier had the privilege and honour of assisting in care of her dear sister Agnes, who suffered illness the entire 50 years of her life. At the same time her parents became chronically ill and Miss Gauthier meandered the healthcare system for many years as she fulfilled her obligations.
Furthermore as her employment in the Church continued, Miss Gauthier served her community by assisting the priests in areas such as: Liturgy, Sacramental Preparation, Home & Hospital Visitation, and Death & Dying of the Parishioner.
It is her prayer that she will be graced with privilege of serving our residents in a manner worthy, and the residents of St. Photina's Rest Home can rest assured that in our care giving of the total person, the salvation of their soul is our priority.
Miss AGATHA GAUTHIER
ADMINISTRATOR
Mrs. CONSTANCE THOMSON R.N.
DIRECTOR OF NURSING
Nursing care rendered in a manner conducive to promoting the dignity of the total person, while maintaining the integrity of the nursing profession. This is the precept which guides Mrs. Thomson's practice. In a day and age where the technological advances of medicine and pharmacy have reduced the person to a commodity, Mrs. Thomson has determined to provide an alternative to the present system. A home enviroment where the care provided is guided by principles rather than technology, where the patient has control over their care, and the nurse has proper time to give to each resident to whom she is entrusted.
Mrs. Thomson gained her experience as an ICU nurse over a broad number of specialties: Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, CCU, Trauma Burn, Neuro Trauma ICU, and Neurological ICU.
St. Photina's Rest Home maintains the autonomy and freedom of choice that only private care can allow.
